White card
With the construction tick on, everyone on a job needs a current one. A white card has no expiry date. It stops counting for construction work when the training was completed more than 2 years ago and has not done construction work in the preceding 2 years (r 316 and 317): give each person's last construction work date in the crew list and the sheet checks it.
How to write it in the crew list
In the tickets column, separated by semicolons: white card. A date as year-month-day or day/month/year.
What the sheet prints
- Missing on a job that needs it: a red flag on that job and that person naming the ticket, with WHS Regs r 316 and 317; Construction Code of Practice 6.1. The person stays on the job.
- No construction work in the 2 years before the sheet date (the crew list's last construction work column, when given): a red flag, "not current for construction work until the induction is redone". Exactly 2 years still counts.
- A date written beside a white card is not read as an expiry.

rr 316 and 317 General construction induction training: provide it and check workers hold a card. A PCBU ensures general construction induction training is provided to each worker it engages to do construction work who has not completed it, or who completed it more than 2 years ago and has not done construction work in the preceding 2 years; and does not direct or allow a worker to do construction work unless the worker has completed the training (and, if more than 2 years ago, has done construction work in the preceding 2 years) and holds a general construction induction training card or, pending a card, a certification issued in the preceding 60 days. Cards issued under a corresponding WHS law are recognised unless cancelled (r 318).

6.1 Ensure each construction worker holds a white card or certification (rr 317, 319). The PCBU must ensure each construction worker holds a general construction induction training card (white card), or certification showing they have applied and not yet been issued one. A worker who has not been notified of a decision within 60 days of applying is taken to hold a card until the regulator decides; a worker who receives a cancellation notice must return the card. Cards issued in other jurisdictions are recognised if used on their terms and not suspended or cancelled. Workers must keep the card available for inspection and show it to the PCBU that engages them.
