Tick "Crane" on a job (or write crane in its licences column) and someone on that job needs a current one.

How to write it in the crew list

In the tickets column, separated by semicolons: crane C2 2027-04-30. A date as year-month-day or day/month/year.

What the sheet prints

• Missing on a job that needs it: a red flag on that job and that person naming the ticket, with WHS Regs r 81 to 85. The person stays on the job.
• Expiring within 30 days of the sheet date (30 counts, 31 does not): a note on the person's line.
• Expired before the sheet date: a red flag on the person's line, and it no longer counts on any job.

Classes

Classes held here: CN non-slewing mobile crane, C2 slewing mobile crane up to 20 t, C6 slewing mobile crane up to 60 t, C1 slewing mobile crane up to 100 t, C0 slewing mobile crane over 100 t, CB bridge and gantry crane, CV vehicle loading crane, CP portal boom crane, CD derrick crane, CS self-erecting tower crane, CT tower crane. Write the class after the name, for example crane CT. A higher class covers a lower one only as the rules page sets out; a family with no class stated counts with the words "class not stated".

  rr 81 to 83 Hold a high risk work licence for each class of high risk work, with exceptions. A person does not carry out a class of high risk work (Schedule 3 licence classes such as scaffolding, rigging, dogging, crane and hoist operation, forklift, boom-type EWP, reach stacker, pressure equipment) without the high risk work licence for that class, except when training toward certification under the supervision of a licence holder, for 60 days after obtaining a specified VET certification (and while a licence application lodged in that period is decided), during an accredited assessor's competency assessment, when working on plant at a workplace solely for manufacture, testing, installation, commissioning, maintenance, repair, alteration, demolition, disposal or moving it within the workplace without a load, when setting up or dismantling a crane or hoist with a qualifying rigging licence, or with a heritage boiler. Equivalent licences from other jurisdictions are recognised unless suspended, cancelled or expired.

• the model WHS Regulations, r85

  r 85 See written evidence of licences, training or certification before allowing high risk work, and keep it. The PCBU does not direct or allow a worker to carry out licensed high risk work without seeing written evidence of the relevant licence, to do it as a trainee without evidence of enrolment in the training course, to do it under the 60-day VET certification exception without evidence of the certification and, where relevant, of the licence application, or to supervise it without evidence of the supervisor's licence; the PCBU keeps a record of that evidence for at least 1 year after the work (or the last supervision).
